Position SummaryWhat you'll do This role is based in Bentonville, AR and would require relocation The Director of Executive Communications (Executive Writer) is an expert with words, a creative writer, who know how to transform words into powerful, moving stories about our company, our teams and our stakeholders.
As a member of the Global Communications team at Walmart, you'll leverage your expertise to make an impact not only on the future of retail, but on topics and issues the whole world is watching.
In this role, you'll primarily collaborate on speeches, op-eds, and other written pieces for two clients:
our president and CEO, and our Chief People Officer.
In addition, you'll work across our executive communications team to help identify the right strategic avenues to deploy our executives' platforms and contribute to materials that support those activities, which may include earnings announcements, speaking panels, keynotes and other speaking engagements.
This role is part of a collaborative, high-performing team of executive communicators that also supports additional leaders across the company, and you'll contribute to (and benefit from) this collective expertise.
You'll make an impact by:
Serving as a strategic communications counselor to senior Walmart leaders.
Preparing speeches, presentations and talking points primarily for external audiences, with some internal as needed.
Designing executive strategies that showcase Walmart leadership and expand awareness of Walmart's strategy- working with teammates across the Walmart Global Communications team to drive those strategies forward.
Applying creative ways to tell stories and determine the best way to reach and engage with target audiences; continuously challenging and improving the effectiveness of communication efforts, as well as monitoring and analyzing communication activities to inform future decision making.
Coaching, staffing and preparing our top leaders for engagements.
You'll sweep us off our feet if:
You're an expert speechwriter with a background writing for CEOs.
You're a master at making complex subjects easily understood through words and visuals.
You have the confidence and experience to coach executives on speech delivery.
You have experience working across global teams, have high standards, and can hold project contributors accountable.
You have exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across business teams; proven ability to influence without direct reporting lines.
You have excellent writing and content creation skills; ability to quickly produce clear, compelling, motivating communications.
You have proven strategic planning and project management capabilities.
You are a problem solver, critical thinker, natural storyteller, curious.
You're organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You're stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage in a fast-paced environment.
You have exemplary oral and written communications skills and engaging executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a large global business and/or PR agency experience.
Experience working alongside financial communications/investor relations Travel:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area.
2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
